GENERAL AND PROFESSIONAL PEDAGOGY
The article analyzes the possibility of using the methods and tools of civil science in the implementation of scientific and innovative projects, as well as the improvement of educational programs in modern universities. Currently, an approach to the development of innovative projects open innovations is being developed, which involves the active involvement of all those interested in the implementation of the project in its development, testing and “market launch”. This requires the search for effective forms and tools for applying the potential of citizen science to the development of scientific and innovative projects and educational practices.
THEORY AND METHODOLOGY OF PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION
The article considers a system-personal approach to the development of methods for planning classes in a foreign language, in the center of which should be the activities of students. The analysis of specific principles was carried out, which include the scientific principle, the principles of activity, consciousness, individualization, accessibility, as well as the principle of communicative orientation.
This article examines the significance of the implementation of the civil-patriotic education program at the level of basic general education in English lessons, which will ensure the formation of patriotism and citizenship among students.
The article examines the issues of updating ESP curriculum used in the educational process of the university. The need for updating is due to the process of digital transformation of society in general and digitalization of education in particular. The author describes the competencies (and corresponding knowledge, skills and abilities) that ESP curriculum focuses on and also provides the review of digital tools, the practical use of which in pedagogical practice will help to achieve the educational goal.
The article is devoted to linguodidactics issues, namely to the issue of using the critical thinking technology in teaching a foreign language. This technology makes it possible to create an atmosphere of openness and cooperation in class, increases the speed and efficiency of information perception, evokes interest both in the material being studied and in the learning process itself, and enhances learners’ responsibility and independence while learning. The article describes methods and techniques to implement the critical thinking technology at foreign language lessons at a university.
The article examines the main ways of developing speech habits at the English lessons. The language environment encourages motivation to communicate in English language. The result is communicating fluently without native language.
GENERAL AND APPLIED LINGUISTICS
The article looks at the identification of linguistic means that verbalize the concept of “virtue” in the English proverbial picture of the world. A corpus of 50 proverbial units thematically related to the concept of “virtue” is analyzed. The concept of “virtue” itself refers to the main layer of evaluative concepts verbalized in the English language image of the world and carrying cultural information.
The article is devoted to the variability of the political discourse of British politicians based on the material of D. Cameron’s public statements. The definition of strategy, tactics of political discourse is given. The most frequently used tactics of D. Cameron’s strategy of retaining power are given, as well as lexical and stylistic means embodying these tactics. The author points out the variety of tactics used by the subject of the study, psychologically directed to the emotions of the addressee, describes the key features of each of them. The author identifies many cases of the use of information-interpretation strategy and the strategy of forming the emotional mood of the addressee, which are part of the strategies of retaining power.
The article is devoted to the issue of polysemy mainstreaming in a language system. There is the ability of a lexical unit to have multiple meanings, which is characteristic of any language, considered. The great influence of the context in the specifications and attributes of the word meaning is emphasized in the article.
SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY
The article is devoted to the analysis of the concept of “stress resistance. It is shown that psychological stress and the desire to cope with it form conscious behavioral strategies. An analysis of scientific views on coping strategies is made. A priority position has been identified in relation to the cognitive approach to the development of stress resistance. The conclusion is drawn, stating that the increase in stress resistance lies in the plane of expanding the personal repertoire of interactions, skills, strategies and models of change management. Cognitive models are proposed that help reduce uncertainty and transform the current situation.
