Abstract
The article provides a brief overview of the history of the search for the language of international communication: from the creation of artificial auxiliary languages to the movement for the revival of the Latin language as a means of scientific communication. Attention to the Latin in this context has been attracted since the end of the 19th century, but the most lively movement “Latinitas viva” experienced in the 1950s-70s and does not fade to this day. In the middle of the 20th century, Latin was a contender for the role of the language of intercultural communication and, although it was not destined to defend its position, Latin is used now in the practice of talking about spiritual topics, if you want to emphasize the elite of classes or give a national neutral character to an international event.

Abstract
The article looks at the structure and contents of the concept of beauty in 6 fairy tales by Oscar Wilde in which 37 lexical units verbalising the concept of beauty have been identified. The units in question are represented by separate words and phrases based on metaphors and similes. Fairy tales often reflect peculiarities of national folklore and moral values; they contain elements representing the individual author’s manner as well as his views. The conceptual analysis of the fairy tales by Oscar Wilde and the search for the elements of the concept of beauty allow us to get a deeper understanding of the author’s aesthetics and analyse its verbalisation in the text. The article contains a classification of the elements of beauty within 4 levels, as well as the examples of their use in the text.

Abstract
The purpose of this article is to describe the appearance of a person by means of stable comparisons (US) with the component-zoonym in Russian and Chinese. 520 Russian and about 250 Chinese units were selected for the analysis. The search for units for description was aimed at identifying units that, first, coincide (partially or completely) in their component composition, but differ in meaning, connotation, and symbolism. Secondly, units that do not have semantic analogues, expressed by phraseological means of the language. Third, we selected units that have semantic analogues in the two languages, which are expressed by different lexical means. Russian stable comparisons with the component-zoonym are used in the Russian language, as a rule, to describe the unattractive appearance of a person. In Chinese, these units can also be used to describe a beautiful appearance. This work is devoted to the description of these features

Abstract
Successful and effective intercultural interaction is possible if you know how communication participants, representa-tives of different cultures, can interpret the processes taking place in the world. In the middle of the XXth century, in the postwar period, significant socio-cultural, political and economic changes took place in Great Britain. They contributed to the formation of mass society and forced to reconsider approaches to the concept of culture. The previous approaches to the analysis of cultural processes occurring in the British society failed to explain all the changes in it. Cultural Studies have become an alternative to the approaches. Representatives of Cultural Studies view culture as a set of interrelated practices. To analyze the phenomena and processes occurring in society, they suggest using the model of the circle of culture. It takes into account almost all the relationships that determine the appearance and existence of various cultural artifacts, processes and phenomena in society
