Linguo-Cognitive Interpretation of the Nouns Verbalizing the Concept of Neutral Smell in the English Language Image of the World

Abstract

The article is dedicated to linguocognitive analysis of a part of the English language image of the world verbalizing the concept of neutral smell. In order to achieve this aim the author looks at direct and methaphorical meanings of some English nouns containing the seme «neutral smell». Linguocognitive analysis of phraseological meanings of the nouns verbalizing the abovementioned concept in the English language image of the world permits us to reveal certain national peculiarities of the concept in question in English culture.
