Representation of a woman in English and Russian phraseology

Abstract

This study is aimed to discover the representation of the image of a woman in the phraseological fund of the English and Russian languages. Phraseological units and proverbs are the research material in both languages. All material is considered from the point of view of female appearance and female character representation. Both of these aspects are studied with positive and negative connotations. So the analysis included the study of woman’s appearance, her mental abilities (kindness and angerness), talkativeness and the ability of a woman to be a mistress in her house
